Can you do a video showing how to clean the levelwind worm gear? Or describe how you do it. Do you grease or oil it?
So you never take them completely apart and soak them in dish soap or anything to get them completely cleaned out?

@snakeboy553 yes it would be good but if you want to get a great real for a LOT less money check out the penn battle the sizes 7000and 8000 will be able to bring in any sailfish out there and is a very smooth strong good looking and hase one of the smoothest drag systems out there but yes this is also a great real my opinion not worth the extra money over the battle:) hope this helps

@snakeboy553 I don’t know. I never touched one but I would buy it if I had the money. I think they come in all sizes and people describe them as the finest reels in the world

@powermugu Simply put, Paladin Gear is what Shimano name their high end gearing system, for along time manufactures found it hard to mix durability with smoothness… Eg a VERY smooth reel would have poor gearing, where as super strong gearing that was pretty much unbreakable would feel rough… Paladin Gear is the mix Shimano has created for smoothness and durability… Hence why the Paladin gears shit all of the Saltigas

@powermugu Paladin means: In the past, gear durability was sacrificed for gear smoothness, or smoothness sacrificed for durability. This is because the harder the gear material, the stronger the durability, but generally the rougher or noisier the drivetrain becomes. After testing many different materials for both the drive gear and the pinion gear, from zinc to brass, to stainless steel to different alloys of aluminum, the Paladin System means cold-forged, unbelievable molecular density.
